Hotel Real de Minas: Price: For SMA Writers Conference attendees only: US$65, including tax (single or double) and full breakfast.
Convenient for conference attendees, this 18-year-old hotel is within walking distance (15 to 20 minutes) of San Miguel’s historic center, and the city bus stops across the street.

Casa Luna

Charming, intimate, and affordable, with beautiful gardens and an excellent view of town from the rooftop patio.

Casa Luna is a 14-room B&B located in the heart of the historic district, just a few blocks from the main plaza and a flat, 15-minute walk from the conference hotel. Two adorable dogs, Fabio and BonBon, make dog-loving guests feel at home.

Hacienda de las Flores

Room rate for conference attendees: US$110–$130 (room, junior suite, and suite, including tax and full breakfast)

Originally an orphanage, this 16th-century building has been converted to a boutique hotel with a swimming pool and pretty gardens. The 17-room B&B is a short walk from Parque Juárez (great for or walking or jogging) as well as San Miguel’s lovely main plaza and iconoclastic Parroquia church. Catch a bus, taxi, or walk (about 20 minutes) to the conference venue.

Room amenities: Purified water, heat, electric blanket, cable TV, phone, refrigerator, microwave, ceiling fan, iron and ironing board, coffee maker.

Jardín del Ciervo Vigilante

An elegant well appointed casita/studio in Guadiana .  An easy 12 minute walk to Hotel Real de Minas, and going the other direction, an enjoyable 12 minute (4 1/2 block) walk past Parque Juarez and down Aldama will put you in the center of town and directly in front of one of the most photographed/painted sides of the Paroquia.  We are also very close to the Saturday morning Organic Market, the Instituto, many fine restaurants with wonderful world class musicians, and much more.
